SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST HOME HEALTH I
Henry Palmer Building, Janesville, WI Campus
Full-Time, Days

The professional we select for this important role will provide assessment, diagnosis, intervention, management, counseling and follow-up services for patients with disorders of speech, language, cognitive aspects of communication, swallowing, and other upper aerodigestive functions. Additional responsibilities include:
 
  • Diagnosing and evaluating speech, language, communicative, cognitive, and swallowing skills related to educational, medical, social and psychological factors in patients of all ages.
  • Planning, directing, or conducting rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
  • Providing counseling, guidance, and language-development therapy.
  • Reviewing individual files for background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests.
  • Administering, scoring, and interpreting specialized hearing, speech, and language tests.
  • Developing and implementing individualized pans for assigned clients to meet specific needs, interests and abilities.
  • Reviewing treatment plans and assessing individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs.
  • Evaluating swallowing abilities via bedside swallow/video studies and developing plans of care.
  • Maintaining records/electronic documentation in compliance with legal, corporate, and administrative regulations.
  • Taking part in the development of community education or promotional programs related to rehabilitation.
  • Assisting in the development of new services and/or programs.
Requirements:
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Master's degree from an accredited graduate program.
  • Successful completion of a clinical fellowship under the supervision of certified SLP.
  • Current license to practice in the state of Wisconsin or registry eligibility.
  • The ability to pass the following: Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and/or Illinois Health Care Workers Background Check, driver's license check, and credit check.
  • The ability to regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
