SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST HOME HEALTH I
Henry Palmer Building, Janesville, WI Campus
Full-Time, Days
The professional we select for this important role will provide assessment, diagnosis, intervention, management, counseling and follow-up services for patients with disorders of speech, language, cognitive aspects of communication, swallowing, and other upper aerodigestive functions. Additional responsibilities include:
Diagnosing and evaluating speech, language, communicative, cognitive, and swallowing skills related to educational, medical, social and psychological factors in patients of all ages.
Planning, directing, or conducting rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
Providing counseling, guidance, and language-development therapy.
Reviewing individual files for background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests.
Administering, scoring, and interpreting specialized hearing, speech, and language tests.
Developing and implementing individualized pans for assigned clients to meet specific needs, interests and abilities.
Reviewing treatment plans and assessing individual performance to modify, change, or write new programs.
Evaluating swallowing abilities via bedside swallow/video studies and developing plans of care.
Maintaining records/electronic documentation in compliance with legal, corporate, and administrative regulations.
Taking part in the development of community education or promotional programs related to rehabilitation.
Assisting in the development of new services and/or programs.
Requirements:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Master's degree from an accredited graduate program.
Successful completion of a clinical fellowship under the supervision of certified SLP.
Current license to practice in the state of Wisconsin or registry eligibility.
The ability to pass the following: Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and/or Illinois Health Care Workers Background Check, driver's license check, and credit check.
The ability to regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
