Job Description:

VOA Massachusetts is looking to hire full-time and part-time recovery specialists for its women’s residential recovery treatment programs, Shiloh House, recently opened in Jamaica Plain, and the soon to be reopened Hello House in Dorchester.

This is an exciting opportunity to help women in early recovery from drug and alcohol use disorders. Our program works with the women for four to six months and is designed to offer a safe treatment environment and holistic wraparound services. We work with multiple treatment modalities such as trauma-informed care, DBT, and we specialize in dual diagnosis. Our programs are funded by the Department of Public Health/Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.

As a Recovery Specialist, you will provide daily support to residents in early recovery, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. You will also provide case management and group and individual substance abuse counseling to a caseload of women in early recovery. You will provide general administrative support and complete all accompanying documentation thoroughly and on time. As part of the team, you will also perform general functions that support the program and treatment facility.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts in related field and one (1) year experience in substance abuse treatment or equivalent; or High School Diploma, or equivalent, and three (3) years case management experience in a substance abuse treatment milieu, or equivalent. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills required. Preference given to those with a knowledge of broad range of treatment modalities, including harm reduction, CBT, Motivational interviewing and 12-step modality.
